Craft In Context: Influx

Moderated Round Table Discussion
On the 21st of April in IMOCA

Putting together a moderated round table / panel discussion on ideas of craft in the context of contemporary visual art. We are putting the call out there to see if anyone would be interested in lending your expertise to this evening as a panellist or audience member.

Covering subjects such as:
Does working in craft mediums limit the audience? What sort of audience is attracted when the work is moved to a contemporary visual art venue?  Is there a place for non-commercial craft based practices within the contemporary Irish Visual art scene?  If so where is that place? who are its audience?A discussion about professional practice since the show combines different approaches to art-making. Who are the audience for contemporary craft in Ireland?
and more… I think you get the basic idea here.
We would ideally like to see panellists from visual art as well as craft backgrounds, artists, curators, critics etc. We have some excellent craft makers who have expressed interest, however, would welcome more.
I hope that we can bring an audience looking for some answers.
If you are interested in getting involved on the panel or in the audience please get in touch. We will hopefully shoot the event as well to create a pod cast to reach a larger audience.
